Plymouth City Council are running a public consultation on plans for a new housing development on the edge of the city.

The development, on land off West Park Hill in Newnham, will see 500 modern, energy efficient homes built, of which 150 will be affordable. Also in the plans is new wetland greenspace, up to 2,000 new trees and a financial contribution towards a new sports hub at Boringdon.

The site is situated within the South Hams district on the eastern edge of Plymouth and is ‘allocated’ within the Plymouth and South West Devon Joint Local Plan (JLP) under Policy PLY52.

The consultation event is a chance to comment on the initial layout. The scheme presented is a ‘work in progress’ illustrative layout and has been prepared to demonstrate what might be possible on the site.

The plans will be adapted in light of comments received and before a planning application is submitted in 2025.
